Salesville Beta Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Salesville is a training game for door to door salespeople, made by Stoeb LLC ("we", "us"). This page covers the Salesville beta: the iPhone app distributed through TestFlight and the Salesville Office website. The beta is by invitation, for adults (18 and over): people who work with a company taking part, and a small number of individual testers we invite ourselves.
Questions or requests: privacy@stoeb.app
What we collect
Your account. Your email address. Your name, if you give one or if Apple passes it to us when you choose Continue with Apple. Which company and which trainer you belong to.
Your voice. On doors where you speak, the app records your side of the conversation. While you talk, the audio goes from your phone to our speech provider to be turned into text. A recording is also sent to us and kept so the door can be played back.
Your conversations. The text of what you said and what the homeowner characters answered, how each door ended, and the scores and coaching notes the game produced.
Your progress. Level, in game money, streak, which doors you have knocked, what you bought in the game, your practice attempts, and which field notes you have opened.
What you write. Tips you post to your company's feed, and reports you make about a post.
Your device. The phone model and iOS version, and timing measurements for each spoken turn (how long a reply took, whether audio played). If you allow notifications, a token that lets us send them to this phone.
Technical records. Sign in attempts (with a scrambled form of the network address they came from), error reports, and a log of which paid services each conversation used and what that cost us.
We do not collect your location, your contacts or your photos. We do not use advertising identifiers and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
On your phone only. On some guided doors you read a line aloud and the words light up. That check uses Apple's speech recognition on the device. Saving a clip to Photos writes to your library only when you choose to.
Why we collect it
- To run the game: the homeowner characters answer what you actually said.
- To coach you: scores, notes and your tapes come from your conversations.
- To let your company train you (see "Who can see it").
- To keep the service working and safe: fixing faults, measuring speed, stopping abuse, reviewing reported posts.
- To improve Salesville: our staff read and listen to beta conversations to find problems and make the game better. In this beta that is part of taking part, and the notice you agree to before your first door says so.
- To understand what the service costs us to run for each company.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
You. Your own doors, tapes and progress.
Your company, if you belong to one. The trainers and managers above you at your company can see your progress, read your conversations, listen to the recordings of your doors, and send you clips and notes. A trainer can share a tape of one of your doors with another rep, or with everyone in your company, as a training example. People at other companies cannot see your conversations, your recordings or your tapes. If you are an individual tester with no company, no company sees them.
Other players, on the league board. The weekly league shows your name, your score for the week and your place. If your company has eight or more people in Salesville, only your company sees your league. If it has fewer, or you have no company, you are placed in a shared league with players from other small companies and individual testers, and they see your name, score and place there. The league never shows your conversations or recordings.
In the feed. If you belong to a company, what you post to the feed is shown to your company under your name. If you are an individual tester with no company, what you post is shown under your name to the other individual testers, and not to any company. Anyone who can see a post can report it; reports are reviewed by our staff.
Hiding is not deleting. Hiding a tape takes it off your own list; your company can still see it. A clip you save to Photos, or that anyone shares outside Salesville, is a copy we no longer control.
Us. Stoeb LLC staff can see accounts, conversations and recordings in order to run, support and improve the service. Reports and feedback also reach our staff by email, and those emails stay in our staff inboxes; they are ours to look after, and a deletion request covers them (see below).
Companies that process data for us. They act on our instructions and only to provide their service:
| Company | What it does for us | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, sign in, file storage | Account details, conversations, recordings, progress, technical records |
| Vercel | Runs our servers | Each request as it is handled, and server logs |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple, notifications, TestFlight | Your Apple sign in, notification content, and what TestFlight itself collects |
| Deepgram | Turns your speech into text | Your voice audio, live, from your phone |
| OpenAI | Scoring, coaching notes, some transcription | Conversation text, some voice audio |
| OpenRouter and the model hosts it routes to | Writes the homeowner characters' replies | Conversation text |
| Resemble AI | Creates the characters' voices | The characters' lines, never your voice |
| Resend | Sends our service emails | Your email address, and the content of the email. Besides your sign in code and an invitation from your company, that includes emails to our own staff: the text of a feed post that was reported or held and the reason given, and any feedback you send us from the app with your name or email. |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Your training records (recordings, conversations, scores, progress, posts) have no time limit during the beta. They are kept while your account exists and are removed when you delete your account or ask us to (see below).
Some housekeeping records are cleared sooner. Records of sign in attempts are cleared after about a week, and the record of a sign up you completed about a day after you finished it. These are cleared when the system next does its housekeeping, so the timing is approximate, not a guarantee. A sign up you started and never finished (the email address and the name you typed) is not cleared automatically; it simply stops working. Email privacy@stoeb.app to have it removed.
We will set fixed time limits for everything before Salesville is released to the public and will update this page when we do.
Deleting your account
In the app: open the phone (top right), then Account, then "Delete my account".
If you signed up with Apple, the app asks you to confirm with Apple so that we can tell Apple to remove Salesville from your Apple ID. If that cannot be done (for example Apple cannot be reached, or you are on an older version of the app), your account is still deleted and one step is left for you: on your iPhone open Settings, tap your name, then Sign-In & Security, then Sign in with Apple, choose Salesville and tap Stop Using Apple ID. A current version of the app shows you these steps, and we also send them by email once the deletion is complete; that email may not reach a hidden Apple address, which is why the steps are written here as well. If that email cannot be sent straight away, we keep the email address so we can try again, for about half a day at most; it is then discarded by our hourly housekeeping.
Deleting removes your voice recordings, your posts, your conversations (including older ones set aside in our archive), your progress, your error reports and timing records, and the account itself.
What is not removed automatically:
- If your company put you on its team list, your name and email stay on that list, no longer connected to any account. Your company controls that list; ask them, or us, to remove it.
- The log of paid services stays, with your account no longer attached to it. It still carries the reference number of each conversation it was for, though the conversation itself is gone.
- Sign in and sign up records are not tied to your account and are not removed by deleting it. Most are cleared by the housekeeping described above; a sign up that was started and never finished stays until we remove it.
- Emails our staff received about you (a report on your post, feedback you sent) stay in our inboxes until we delete them. Email privacy@stoeb.app and we will.
- Copies in our database provider's backups remain until those backups expire.
- During the beta our staff may hold working copies of some conversations used for testing. Email privacy@stoeb.app and we will delete those as well.
- Anything already saved or shared outside Salesville.
You can also email privacy@stoeb.app to ask for a copy of your information, or to have something corrected or deleted.
Children
The beta is for adults only. It is not offered to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has an account, email privacy@stoeb.app and we will remove it.
Where it is processed
Our servers and database are in the United States. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that matters, we will say so in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
